WHEN DIFFERENT OPINIONS CONNECTING PEOPLE

Dear ICMEMmates, Dear Friends,

I hope that you have safe and good trip back to home. Since I´m in Croatia on holiday, my thoughts are still fresh, remembering the last week the event held on 6th to 10th June 2016 in Nový Smokovec (International Conference on Manufacturing Engineering and Materials), organized by the Faculty of Manufacturing Technologies TUKE in Prešov, under the auspices of the Dean of the Faculty prof. Ing. Jozef Zajac, PhD, Institute of Geonics of the CAS in Ostrava – Poruba, under the auspices of its Director prof. RNDr. Radim Blaheta, CSc., the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Opole University of Technology, under the auspices of the Dean of the Faculty prof. dr hab. inż. Tadeusz Łagoda, and the TEAM International Society, under the auspices of the President Prof. dr. sc. Dražan Kozak.

This year, ICMEM 2016 organizing committee received morethan 80 submissions which authors and co-authors and participants are from 20 different countries of the world. Reviewers and members of the Program committee and their recommendations used for a selection of carefully reviewed all submissions in the spirit of Dražan´s words “Do not prove, but improve”. According their advices were accepted more than 75 papers to be published in Procedia Engineering. In addition to the contributed papers, prominent researches were invited to give keynote lectures in their respective fields of competence. For running a conference of this magnitude, financial support is essential. We would like to thank you to director of GGP Slovakia Mr. Nicolas Vil and director of 1PN Ltd., Prešov Dr. Dušan Manduľák.

This conference bears all the hall marks of success. This is due to your great contribution and team work participants and organizers. I would like to thank you all those who helped in successful smooth running of ICMEM2016 conference. In addition to the contributed papers, prominent researches were invited to give keynote lectures in their respective fields of competence: Prof. Frank Pude, MSc. Eva Vojnová, MSc, Róbert Svozil, Dr. Manfred Schmid, Dr. Josef Foldyna, Dr. Simon Barrans, Prof. Dražan Kozak, Dr. Milos Milosevic, prof. Alessandro Ruggiero, prof. Somnath Chattopadhyaya.

The best poster and the best presentation award are still under evaluation and the competition will be closed next week. Of course you can send me your proposal and your nomination which can influence decision of five evaluators.

Smooth running of the ICMEM2016 can be hardly imagined without the proactive work of Management of Atrium Hotel especially. A big thanks goes to director of the hotel and contact person Katarína Chabadová, the stuff of the hotel (Mário, Veronika, Petras pop Group. etc (sorry for my forgetfulness). Big thanks goes to Lenka Smataníková from Science.sk, who allow us the transfer the event information via popularisation portal science.sk. Big thanks also belong to reporters from journal Strojarstvo and portals Veda na dosah and Vedecky kaleidoskop.

Last but not least are the YOU who deserve BIG THANK YOU, for your research and development efforts which are recorded in those ICMEM 2016 program proceedings. On behalf of ICMEM organization team (Lubica Ferencova, Matus Molitors, Dominika Lehocka, Alena Mihalovova and Me) I´m very grateful that you participate ICMEM conference in Novy Smokovec in Hotel Atrium. I hope that your participation was enjoyable and also professionally rewarding.
